Based on the book "Simplicity Parenting" by Kim John Payne, Family Life Parent Groups help create a simpler, more balanced home life for you and your family.

About Family Life Parent Groups
Simplicity Parenting Family Life Parent Groups bring together small groups of like-minded parents to explore “the extraordinary power of less.”
As the pace of life accelerates, with too many choices and too little time, children and parents alike feel the pressure. Parents feel stressed out, overwhelmed, and worried. Children can become anxious, have trouble with friends and school, and even be diagnosed with behavioral problems.
But by incorporating the simple principles they learn in this class, parents can begin to create the balanced, connected home life we all want for ourselves and our children.
Parent Groups are led by a Certified Simplicity Parenting Group Leader and are held in person when possible or virtually through interactive video calls.
In-person classes consist of three gatherings of approximately 2-1/2 hours each. Virtual classes typically consist of more gatherings of shorter length.
Tuition for the classes can be found at nurturedinseasons.co.nz, and pre-registration is required. (Participant Materials are included in the tuition.)

About Teddie Van Pelt
Kia ora. My name is Teddie. I am a mother to two active, outdoor- loving children.
When I had my firstborn, I stumbled on a 10- week parent-infant course that taught parents to build peaceful partnerships with their children through mutual affection and respect. It positively challenged the things I knew about parenting from my own culture and has guided me and my husband with raising our family.
Married to a Dutchman, we adapted the 3Rs of Dutch Parenting- Rust (Rest), Reinheid (Cleanliness) and Regelmaat (Routine) but we added another R- Respect… respecting the children’s natural development and giving them the same respect as we would give an adult. Reading the Simplicity Parenting book affirmed the principles we follow in raising our children. It reassured us of our conscious decision to let our children be children… unplugged from all the screens and connected to themselves, family and others, and nature.
Fortunate to receive the right information at the right time in our parenting journey, I founded Nurtured in Seasons to pay forward the compassion that I received from others as a parent and to inspire mindful, positive parenting through simplicity. NIS is a parenting coach service which provides parents support through the different seasons of parenthood via antenatal and Simplicity Parenting classes, and individual coaching.
I am also a registered New Zealand Speech-language Therapist and have completed my post-graduate studies on Family Life and Child Development at the University of the Philippines.
When I am not busy baking or gardening with my children, you will find me at the beach- chilling out or freediving, or at the pool- either teaching swimming or playing underwater hockey.
About Simplicity Parenting
A manifesto for protecting the grace of childhood, Simplicity Parenting is an eloquent guide to bringing new rhythms to bear on the lifelong art of raising children, offering inspiration, ideas, and a blueprint for change:
- Streamline your home environment.
- Reduce the amount of toys, books, and clutter-as well as the lights, sounds, and general sensory overload.
- Establish rhythms and rituals. Discover ways to ease daily tensions, create battle-free mealtimes and bedtimes, and tell if your child is overwhelmed.
- Schedule a break in the schedule.
- Establish intervals of calm and connection in your child's daily torrent of constant doing.
- Scale back on media and parental involvement.
- Manage your children's "screen time" to limit the endless deluge of information and stimulation.

And Parent Groups are the best way to bring the material to life in your family.
