About Discipline and Guidance Parent Groups

Simplicity Parenting Discipline and Guidance Parent Groups bring together small groups of like-minded parents to explore and discover new ways of dealing with the challenges of providing loving but firm discipline and guidance to our children.

The Simplicity Parenting approach to discipline is based on understanding a child’s needs and developmental stages, and seeks to provide guidance through coming together and strengthening a family's values rather than through conflict and punishment.

Parent Groups are led by a Certified Simplicity Parenting Group Leader and are held in person when possible or virtually through interactive video calls, and there are three different classes offered, based on the age of your child: “The First Nine Years,” “The Tween Years (9-13),” and “The Teen Years (14-19).”

In-person classes consist of three gatherings of approximately 2-1/2 hours each. Virtual classes typically consist of more gatherings of shorter length.

Tuition for the classes is $115 NZD per person or $200 per couple, plus a $40 materials fee, and pre-registration is required. (Participant Materials are purchased directly from the Simplicity Parenting Institute. A couple may share a single set of Participant Materials. Limited, need-based tuition scholarships available.)

If you'd like to be informed when the next class opens up, please fill out the form below to add your name to our interest list, and indicate which class you’re interested in. We’ll let you know as soon as registration opens.

About Bianca Entwistle

Bianca is the parent of 3 amazing children and two beautiful grandchildren. Needless to say, this has given her many years of parenting experiences from different perspectives.

In the early stages of her parenting, she quickly realized the importance of working on herself, alongside her first son, to be the best person she can be for herself, those she loves, and to inspire others around her. That brought her to 20 years of experience in multiple modalities of self-work and group work.

It was the profound result of her personal experience that led her to growing her passion about creating a safe space where parents can come together and feel supported and nurtured on their own unique journey they embark on. A space where they can grow the relationship with their children which is true and perfect to them, free of social ideas, patterns, and prejudices.  She feels honoured to work with parents in such a vulnerable and brave way. Over the years she has learned that there are no two relationships alike and she feels great respect for meeting parents "where they are at."

Bianca is a well-trained Mama, (having been blessed with children who insist on her "stepping up"), a simplicity Parenting Coach, and a Guidance and Discipline workshop facilitator with several years experience working in groups for personal development.

Frequently Asked Questions

About The Soul of Discipline

In this groundbreaking material, parenting expert and acclaimed author of the bestselling book Simplicity Parenting, Kim John Payne, M.Ed., flips the script on children’s challenging or defiant behavior and lays out an elegantly simple plan to support parents in establishing loving, age-sensitive boundaries that help children feel safe and settled.

Payne gives parents heartwarming help and encouragement by combining astute observations with sensitive and often funny stories from his long career as a parent educator and a school and family counselor.

Practical and rooted in common sense, The Soul of Discipline gives parents permission to be warm and nurturing but also calm and firm (not overreactive). It gives clear, doable strategies to get things back on track for parents who sense that their children’s behavior has fallen into a troubling pattern.

Best of all, it provides healthy direction to the entire family so parents can spend less time and energy on outmoded, punitive discipline and more on connecting with and enjoying their kids.
